YOU ARE TREATED BY THE WAY YOU DRESS.

27 agosto

So, this quote has been spinning around in my mind lately '"he way you dress affects the way you are percieved and the way you are percieved is the way you are treated" and it got me thinking...

Actually, the thing I love the most about fashion, makeup and style in general is the possibility of changing yourself and the way others look at you day to day. I love to wake up in the morning thinking, 'Who do I want to be today?' 'What vibes do I want to give off?'
It might seem stupid to some of you, but to me, depending on how I'm dressed I walk differently, I may act a bit differently and esentially, I'm treated differently. Even though I'm still the same person, I like to give off different sides of my personality through fashion.

I'm almost always in skinny jeans or dresses and it's usually neutral/colored pieces but lately I've been loving all black outfits. My style is very casual, sweet with a bit of an edge, but this day I was like: no, today I'm going badass in all black! I had two braids in my hair (which would normally realte to a more childish look) but paired with ripped jeans, boots and black leather, everything changes drastically!

Storytime. So I was dressed like this walking down the street and it was actually really funny  to me because I guess older people are a bit 'scared' by people that dress like this (as if edgy meant 'I'm going to kill you'), so I don't know if it's the black clothing, purple lipstick or the overall rebelious vibe but they just like to stare and jugde.
At one point someone walks up to ask me something and I just stand there and smile because I love the way his eyebrows raised in surprise to notice the sweetness in my answer and the contrast of it against what I looked like.
Because yes, I'm often told I have a childish sweet type of voice and I like to dance around a lot and I tend to laugh really high pitched so I completely understand the reaction lol but for one second did I not think of all the people who are treated in any other than a good way because they have piercings, tattoos, green hair, or anything that "society" gives off as something to not like about someone else.

To conclude, I don't believe anyone's clothing or personal body choices should affect the way they are treated, we should all be treated nicely despite the way we look. Please don't pre-judge.

Just something to start off your weekend right, hope you have a good one ;)♥

  4. It's funny you mention the way that society looks differently towards. I hate to admit but I was one of those people. I went to get my hair done and my hairdresser had lots of tattoos, a nose piercing, and purple hair. Immediately I misjudged her and it turns out she was the sweetest person.
